Youth Against Poverty Event At UNITED NATIONS EDUCATION SCIENCE AND CULTURE ORGANIZATION ( UNESCO TANZANIA)

"Over the past few years, The National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (MKUKUTA) in Tanzania has given high priority to eradicating extreme poverty and promoting broad-based growth. Achieving pro-poor growth has also been widely recognized by the World Bank as a critical strategy for accelerating progress toward its twin goals of eliminating extreme poverty at the global level by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity by fostering income growth among the bottom 40 percent of every country. Youth Against Poverty (YAP) is a platform that brings together youth and keenly focuses on matters concerning the role of youth in fighting against poverty in Tanzania. Their intention is to create awareness to the targeted group and erase the mindset that the youth cant manage things without the government support. YAP wants to erase the dependency just like our late father MWALIMU JULIUS NYERERE talked on his philosophical ideas as he once said ‘Three enemies of Tanzania’s economy are POVERTY,IGNORANCE and DISEASES. YAP's mission is to improve the mindset of young people and make them aware of poverty and various tactics through its programs and initiatives to fight against poverty. On the 25th of June 2015. I am highly delighted to be on the panel of young mentors rooting for change through the fight against poverty,Founded by The YOUTH AGAINST POVERTY Organization in partnership with United Nations Education Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO Tanzania)" RIO PAUL.
